Why It's Important to Invest in Your Hair.
Updated: Nov 5, 2021

Its Your Permanently Placed Crown
Our hair is one of the first things people notice about you and unfortunately one of the things we judge the most.
Your hair is your crown that you never really take off, so you definitely want to make sure it is looking it's absolute best.

Boost Your Mood
Self esteem , social grace , and self confidence are a few reasons it is important. They are also the main contributors to personal success. Whenever you feel down about how you look, there is a quick solution to fix it. Not only are you investing in these products but you are investing in yourself.

Use The Correct Shampoo and Conditioner

Taking the time to invest in caring for your hair is also good for hygiene. When your hair and scalp are clean, you are also doing your best to insure a healthy scalp.
I know there are so many things you would rather spend your money on and spending money on your hair may not be at the top of your list.
For some, a quick trip to the grocery store and picking up the cheapest bottle of shampoo and conditioner that you can find without even looking at the label and buying it because it smells good is good enough. Some don't even make sure it's even good for their hair type.
The wrong shampoo for your hair type won't have the best results on your hair. Not doing so can have damaging effects on your hair and scalp.
Shampoo is necessary because it rids our hair and scalp of excess sebum, product and environmental build up we have accumulated over time.
The bottom line is that the products you use on your hair have quite an impact either good or bad.
Low quality products will yield low quality results and your hair needs feeding just like your pet, your plants, or your family. You want to make sure that they receive the best quality vitamins and minerals that you can provide. Your hair also needs the same kind of attention.

As mentioned in my previous blog, certain minerals are essential to the health of our bodies and our hair.
Zinc is an important mineral for healthy hair, without it zinc deficiency can occur.
A,B & C vitamins are also very important.
Vitamin A - Essential for all cells. Hair is the fastest growing tissue in the human body. Vitamin A allows the body to produce sebum which helps moisturize hair and scalp.
However, you can over do it. Too much Vitamin A can contribute to hair loss. Like everything else in life you have to have balance.
B Vitamins - One of the most popular is Biotin. A deficiency in biotin has been connected to loss of hair in humans.
B Vitamins also help the body create red blood cells. Red blood cells do the work of transporting oxygen to the scalp and follicles. Foods like:
Whole grain
Almonds
Fish and seafood
Dark leafy greens
B12 Vitamins are found in animal foods. If you are plant based, you may need to add a supplement to your diet.
Vitamin C - It is a powerful antioxidant. I helps to block free radicals from damaging our cells from oxidative stress in the body.
It also creates collagen in the body, a protein that is an important part of the hair structure.
As well as that, C Vitamins help your body to absorb iron which is an essential part of hair growth.
Foods containing higher amount of Vitamin C :
Strawberries
Peppers
Guavas
Citrus
Kiwis
As we age, so does our hair. Anti-aging shampoo and conditioners becomes necessary. Using shampoos and conditioners with fatty acids and minerals will make our hair more nourished and
healthy.
Hair Loss Is A Nightmare
In most cases, hair loss is hereditary. However, not in all cases. One of which can be excessive styling. Others can be too much tension, side effects medication, vitamin deficiency, auto-immune disease, and chemical interactions, just to name a few.
If using heat on a regular basis is something you plan to do, invest in a quality heat protectant and non damaging styling products to prevent heat damage and hair loss.
When You Know Better You Can Do Better
Learn about your hair and hair type. Find out what porosity you have or if you have multiple.
There are 3 types:
Low
Medium
High
When you know this, you can use products focused on to adding balance to your hair type and porosity.
Using Natural Products
Expert Hannah Cook says, The use of natural products has several benefits:
No harmful chemicals- like silicones, paraben's, and sulfates.
More environmentally friendly- by using biodegradable and recyclable materials.
Sustainability- products procured ethically with fair trade. More brands are giving back to local communities and the environment.

Final Thoughts...
Our hair requires maintenance like our cars, our homes, our yards etc. As adults, its something we can teach our children. Its a part of being an adult. It is important because when things are neglected for long periods of time, they begin to fail us and then when damage has been obtained it has become more expensive to bring back to its original condition or the damage is irreparable.
